Artspace 304 presents the Locality Biennial Exhibition, on view July 5 – August 11 in our main
gallery. In celebration of the rich and diverse talent in Southern Illinois, Locality highlights our
region’s artists and craftspeople. The exhibition showcases artwork with diversity and
uniqueness in style, technique and conceptual ideas. The artists’ work ranges from paintings,
photographs, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and digital multi-media. Join us for the
reception this Friday, July 7 from 5 – 7 pm.

Also on view during the duration of Locality is Our World, Many Lenses, an exhibition featuring
artwork created by middle school students during an after-school art project sponsored by
Artspace 304 and the Illinois Humanities Council grant Foreground Rural Initiative. Our World,
Many Lenses emphasizes self-expression, storytelling, and embracing diverse perspectives
through narrative drawing and painting activities. The sessions took place at the Boys and Girls
Club Carbondale Middle School and the Anna Arts Center of the Shawnee Hills Art Council.
This exhibition showcases sessions two and three of the program, with the first session
completed in March at Cobden Middle School.
Artspace 304 is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12-5 pm. Parking is available in the
First Christian Church parking lot, located on W Monroe St and S University Ave in Carbondale,
