Movie screenings will resume at the Varsity on Thursday, Sept. 14 as “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” opens the Fall Cinema Series. The series is presented by Castle Perilous of Carbondale.
The film that propelled Paul Reubens from underground comic to unlikely icon, “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” takes you on a journey through the wide and weird American landscape in search of Pee-Wee’s beloved red Schwinn bicycle. Marking Tim Burton’s first directorial feature, as well as Danny Elfman’s first film score, “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” summoned a cultural wave that resonates today.
Come get your red bow tie and hitch a ride with Large Marge down to the Varsity to help kick off our Fall Cinema Series! See it Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7. The bar opens at 6, so come early for special tequila cocktails and shots.
Tickets are $8 and are available in advance at Eventbrite (bit.ly/3VH7E2T and at the door night of show when the bar opens at 6.
