The City of Carbondale is pleased to announce that beginning Monday, June 10, 2024 the water main replacement
project for S. Glenview Drive is scheduled to begin. Approximately 4,400’ of water main on S. Glenview between W.
Chautauqua Rd and Turley Park will be replaced.
The contractor that will be replacing the water main is A&W Plumbing of Murphysboro, IL.
During the water main replacement process, there may be some water service interruptions for short periods of time.
The City and the contractor will strive to keep these at a minimum. Service outages are normally planned and occur
between the hours of 9am and 5pm, but could be at other times due to unforeseen instances. The City does not expect
any boil water orders due to our strict water testing policies. If you experience discolored water, please open your cold
water faucet until it is clear.
