The Southern Il PrideFest Royalty Pageant is a gender-inclusive drag pageant for contestants who are committed to serving the LGBTQ Community of Southern Illinois. More than title holders, our Pride Royalty embody the soul of Pride. They commit their volunteer work, time, and energy to the mission of Pride in Action, Southern Il and Southern Il PrideFest.
Right now, the art of Drag is under attack more than ever, with proposed legislation to ban various forms of drag in the immediate states surrounding Southern Il. Our pageant is open to the Tri-State region, including Kentucky and Missouri, within a 150 mile radius of Carbondale, Il. We are committed to protecting this art form in Illinois, and want to be seen as a safe space for drag and gender performance for our neighbors as well.
Our Pageant Director, Jodie Santana, is committed to producing a vibrant pageant that honors drag in all of its forms and embraces gender inclusivity. If you are interested in competing to become Southern Il PrideFest Royalty, please complete this application and contestant agreement.
This pageant is all inclusive. Contestants will compete against one another for the titles of Mr. Southern Il PrideFest King, Miss Southern Il PrideFest Queen, and Mx. Southern Il PrideFest In-Between.
