Scholarships Available for Southern Illinois Students For Kids’ Sake International

Carbondale, IL – For Kids’ Sake International (FKSI) is now accepting applications for the 2026 FKSI Southern Illinois Scholarship. Five $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors or recent graduates in the 17 southernmost counties of Illinois. The scholarship is for students who have lost a parent and are pursuing a career in the trades, vocational or technical fields. Eligible programs include, electrician, HVAC, firefighting, welding, nursing, automotive tech, cosmetology, medical tech, culinary arts, construction, and more. FKSI Scholarships cover tuition, certification fees and/or required start-up equipment. The application is open now through February 28, 2026; recipients will be announced by May 2026.
