MONTHLY PEACE AND JUSTICE VIGIL:
START A PEACE WAVE, STOP THE DEATH WAVE SATURDAY, JUNE 4, 2022 NOON TO 1:00 PM The Peace Coalition of Southern Illinois will hold the Monthly Peace and Justice Vigil on Saturday, June 4, 2022, Noon to 1 P.M. at the corner of Main and Illinois Ave., Carbondale.
Start a Peace Wave, Stop the Death Wave—Stand with the majority of the country that supports sensible gun violence prevention. Over 60 % support an assault weapons ban and strengthened universal background checks. White supremacists and young men with a suicide/homicide mission have access to the guns of war even the police are sometimes afraid to face.
Guns are now the leading cause of death of children in the U.S. which has more guns than people. If guns made us safe, we would be the safest country on earth. In the 1990’s Australia banned assault weapons, bought back those in circulation and no longer suffers mass killings. Why do we continue to foster a gun culture that is truly killing our future?
