MAKANDA, Ill. -Giant City State Park is a great place to do a little night sky viewing and what better people
to view the sky with than the Astronomical Association of southern Illinois!
Join a Park Naturalist as we take a very short evening hike to the viewing field where AASI will have
telescopes set up to enjoy the beautiful night sky and all that it has to offer.
This program is weather dependent.
This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Giant City State Park is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The mission of the IDNR
is to manage, conserve and protect Illinois’ natural, recreational, and cultural resources, further the public’s
