MT. VERNON ILL, May 4- The 2023 Market Days season will kick off Saturday, May 13th
at Veterans Memorial Park, 800 S. 27th Street in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Celebrating 10 years,
Market Days welcomes back a variety of previous and a number of new vendors for the 2023
season.
“We are very excited to kick off this season with a celebration of Mothers on Saturday,
May 13th. We will have a flower for the first 200 ladies who come by the information tent in
addition to our traditional Market Days tote bag for the first 200 visitors,” commented Mt.
Vernon Festivals, Inc. Director, Angela Schrum.
Market Days is Mt. Vernon’s very own indoor and outdoor flea market and vendor fair.
A variety of vendors will be selling diverse items such as antiques, collectibles, handmade items,
plants, jewelry, kettle corn, fair food and more! Admission and parking are free. Market Days
occur on the second Saturday of the month May through September from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with
the exception of the July Market which will be held at the Mt. Vernon Airport in conjunction
with the annual Salute to Freedom. This year’s dates are May 13, June 10, July 4, August 12 and
September 9.
“To add value to each event there are special themes associated with each month’s
event. May is the Celebration of Mothers. In June we will have PawFest at Market Days with a

Celebration of Pets. July will be held at the Salute to Freedom on July 4th from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
August is always a big event with the Back to School Bash and Cusumano’s low cost produce
stand. Also held at the same time at the park are the Drug Court Coalition’s Hand Up Summit
and Central Christian Church & Mrs. Linola Spann’s Backpack Block Party. In September,
Market Days will celebrate its season Grand Finale as they welcome visitors from all over who
will be in town for the Cedarhurst Art & Craft Fair and the Midwest Light Sport Aircraft Expo.
Vendors are still being accepted with limited indoor booth space still available and plenty
