SIU law professor Rebecca O’Neill will discuss guardianships for adults and minors at the Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR) Zoom meeting. She will give an overview of the legal aspects of guardianships of adults and explain how and why grandparents and other caregivers may obtain guardianship over minors.
A Clinical Professor of Law, Rebecca O’Neill has worked in the SIU Civil Practice Clinic for the Elderly since 1991. Along with the law students she supervises, O’Neill provides legal services to senior citizens in the southern 13 counties of the state. The Clinic recently received the Illinois State Bar Association Legal Education Award.
