Justin Schoof will discuss “Climate Change: Global and Local” at the Zoom-delivered Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR) meeting Wednesday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m. Despite strong scientific understanding and consensus regarding the nature and causes of recent climate change, the public remains divided by the issue. Dr. Schoof, a Professor of Geography and Environmental Resources at SIU Carbondale, will explore our current state of knowledge regarding global changes in climate as well as recent and possible future climate changes in Southern Illinois.
The meeting is free to the public. Non-members of SILIR can sign up to receive the Zoom link, by contacting Jackie Welch at 618-536-7751 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by January 18.
