Southern Illinois Learning in Retirement (SILIR) will offer classes focusing on short stories, Hinduism, statesmanship, and early American history in its upcoming Spring Session II. Beth Lordan will teach short fiction by Alice Monro in “More Monro”; Paul Mundschenk will teach “Hinduism Revisited”; John Shaw will teach “Restoring American Statesmanship”; and Kay Carr will teach “A Brief History of Revolutionary America (1763-1812).”
Classes begin the week of March 18 except for the Revolutionary America class, which begins March 26. Each class costs $15 and typically meets two hours weekly for five weeks at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Carbondale.
Enrollment requires SILIR membership, open to anyone 50 or older. Dues are $13 January-June. To join and/or register for classes, contact Diane Mcintyre at 618-536-7751.
