The City of Carbondale and the Carbondale Branch of NAACP invite members of the community to attend the Carbondale “At the Table” Dinner & Dialogue series on Tuesday, June 17th at the Carbondale Civic Center.
The City of Carbondale will celebrate Juneteenth during their final Carbondale “At the Table” event. Mayor Carolin Harvey will kick off the evening and discuss Freedom to Freedom, a Juneteenth celebration series. The Carbondale Branch of NAACP will then provide an educational presentation to honor the significance of Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day. The discussion topic for the evening is From Freedom to Freedom: Liberty and Justice for All. The theme reflects of the symbolisms of freedom associated with Juneteenth and the 4th of July, while capturing the overall goals of the Healing Illinois initiative.
