Makanda-In 2027 Giant City will be celebrating 100 years as a State Park and we want to
hear from you!
We love hearing your stories about Giant City! In 2027 we would like to share your Giant City
memories with the public in a yearlong Visitor Center display.
-Stories should be no more than 100 words long and should include a
copy of an original picture
-Stories/pictures will be accepted August-November of 2026
-Stories/pictures can be submitted via email at this address:
DNR.GiantCity100@illinois.gov
or, in person at the Giant City Visitors Center between 8:30am-3:30pm
7 days a week.
These can be funny stories, life events or just favorite Giant City memories.
