Full Moon Hike at Giant City State Park on Sunday, June 4th from 8:30-10:00 pm
MAKANDA, Ill. – Take a leisurely stroll on the 1/3 mile Devil’s Standtable trail in the dappled moonlight with
interpretive guide Steve Gariepy. Consider the nocturnal activities of forest animals, of native people who once
sheltered here, and explore our own senses and relationships to the night.
This program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Giant City State Park is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The mission of the IDNR
is to manage, conserve and protect Illinois’ natural, recreational, and cultural resources, further the public’s
understanding and appreciation of those resources, and promote the education, science and public safety of
