Calling all artists, families, and patrons of the arts! The For Kids’ Sake Artist Reception is this Saturday, May 21, from 1pm-3pm at Longbranch Café & Bakery (100 E. Jackson St, Carbondale, IL). The Artist Reception is a chance to meet the artists featured in the 22nd Annual For Kids’ Sake Art Show, buy artwork, shop for authentic Bangladeshi merchandise, and enjoy Longbranch refreshments.
The 22nd Annual For Kids’ Sake Art Show features artwork from local students, professional, and international artists. Last summer, For Kids’ Sake offered free art workshops for local kids thanks to grant funding from the Carbondale Community Arts Southern Arts Fund and a partnership with the Carbondale Park District. Stained glass and other select pieces from these workshops are featured in the show. All art is available for purchase “off-the-wall” now through June 26. All proceeds benefit orphans and students in Bangladesh.
