Food Works of Southern Illinois will host two upcoming winter events for farmers and those interested in
growing! Noah Scalero of Beetroot Farm will present a “Crop Planning” webinar on Wednesday, February
18th and Jill Rendleman will host a Field Day Sunday, February 22nd at All Seasons Farm about “Winter
Growing”!

Crop Planning Webinar with Noah Scalero of Beetroot Farm

Food Works of Southern Illinois invites you to create a crop plan using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel!
Noah Scalero of Beetroot Farm in Carbondale, Illinois will show attendees how to:
● Plan successions of crops throughout the season
● Create a seed starting schedule
● Calculate how many seeds or plants you will need to fill up a bed
● Estimate yield per bed
This webinar is perfect for beginning farmers, gardeners, or seasoned growers looking to level-up their
crop plan.
About Beetroot Farm
Beetroot Farm started in 2023 and provides over 30 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers to
the local Carbondale community. Noah Scalero is committed to using production practices that are soil
building, using no agricultural chemicals, low-tillage practices, cover cropping, and on-farm composting.
He recently taught Food Works Farm Beginnings and has lended his expertise in growing intensively for

Winter Growing Field Day with Jill Rendleman of All Seasons Farm
Sunday, February 22, 2026, 1-4pm
Location: All Seasons Farm; Cobden, IL
Growing fresh produce year-round is possible in Southern Illinois. Join Jill Rendleman of All Seasons
Farm to learn the strategies and equipment used to produce high-quality vegetables throughout the winter
months. This in-person field day will include both indoor classroom instruction and guided outdoor farm
tours.
Topics covered will include:
● Types of season-extension covers for winter production, including low and medium hoops,
caterpillar tunnels, and unheated high tunnels

About All Seasons Farm
All Seasons Farm is a family-operated produce farm located in the heart of Southern Illinois, between
Anna and Carbondale. For more than a decade, the farm has focused on growing year-round Certified
Organic vegetables and fruit using bio-intensive and regenerative practices that prioritize soil health and
nutrient density. The team starts plants by hand with heirloom and non-GMO seed varieties and grows
them in biologically healthy soil that is tested annually to support robust plant growth. All Seasons also

has recently transitioned to Certified Naturally Grown certification, reflecting a continued commitment to
