Cookbook Fundraiser for Food Pantry
Carbondale, IL. Mark your calendar for the end of October and Confluence Books’ Cookbook Fundraiser to benefit the Carbondale Food Pantry. The fundraiser is held at the Carbondale Farmers Market in Westowne Centre. The date is Saturday October 31 from 8 am to noon.
As usual, the public is welcome to donate cookbooks in advance at Confluence Books, 705 West Main Street in Carbondale or at Fresh Foods, 1927 West Main Street, at the west end of Murdale Shopping Center. Extra tables will be provided by the Newman Center, with space for books that arrive on Saturday morning at the market. Confluence Books owner Sarah Heyer commented, “Cookbooks make nice gifts, too!”
The cookbooks are not priced. Anyone can take whatever they need or want and put a donation into the jar, knowing that it will go directly to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. Checks can be made out to Good Samaritan Ministries.
The raindate will be Saturday, November 7.
