A fundraising concert is scheduled in the Yolonde B. Peterson Performance Hall of the Marion
Cultural and Civic Center October 22, 2022.
“Celebrate an Evening with Cole Porter,” will honor one of America’s greatest composers and
song writers on Saturday, October 22, 2022, 7:30 – 9:30 PM. Electronic ticketing will be
available online or by phone; $18 or $25 each; beginning 10:00 AM Monday, September 19, at

Carbondale’s WDBX –FM (91.1) Community Radio is the presenting sponsor. Jean Armstrong,
on-air personality of Saturday morning’s show, “Grandma’s Jazz,” will be introduced as our
emcee for the evening, narrating the Cole Porter musical selections with fascinating historical
antidotes. Jean will introduce the Foundation Board President, John Wohlwend as her studio
guest with an on-air interview this coming Saturday morning, September 17 from 10:00 AM
until noon, discussing details of the concert. (91.1 FM) – Carbondale Community Radio.

The audience is encouraged to dress in vintage attire, as worn during the time of Cole Porter’s
life and career, 1891-1964. This 90-minute concert will be performed in three different
segments of Cole Porter’s life with no intermission.
All proceeds of this fundraising concert will benefit the Marion Cultural and Civic Center with
the Foundation’s donation of two six-passenger “Concierge Carts” to be used as parking
shuttles by the City of Marion during Civic Center events.
