On April 8, at 1:59 PM, Carbondale, Illinois will officially become the “Eclipse Crossroads of America” as this
year’s total solar Eclipse crosses over the path from the total solar eclipse we experienced here in 2017. The
exact cross-points are within Carbondale’s Cedar Lake.

Cedar Lake will be open and available for guests to come observe the Eclipse in this truly iconic location. Spots
at Cedar Lake will all be first-come first-serve. Below is important info and guidelines for our guests to be able
to plan their most enjoyable Eclipse experience possible.

-Poplar Camp Beach will be open for visitors. There are restrooms available for guest at this site. No swimming
or alcohol will be allowed at this location, and there is no boat access allowed from the beach. There is no
admission fee at this site.

-There will be full access to the Carbondale Boat Launch- The gates will open at 9 AM, unless traffic is an issue
at this time. NO overnight parking is allowed and visitors will be turned around once the parking lot is full.
Restrooms are also available to guests at this site.

-Saddle Dam (at the end of Cedar Road) will be open for guests to view the Eclipse. Accessing the Main Dam
by foot and by boat to view the Eclipse will be allowed.

-General Access Points (Trailhead)- like the other locations, no overnight parking will be allowed here & no
camping will be allowed on these sites. Trail maps are available at each of our trailheads via a QR code.
