CARBONDALE LIBRARY TO HOST CANDIDATE FORUMS

The Carbondale Public Library, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Jackson
County, will host 2 public candidate forums in October. The first , scheduled for Friday
October 2 at 6:00pm, is for the candidates running for the 118th House of Representatives,
Homer “Chip” Markel (D) and Scott Doody (R). The second, scheduled for Monday, October
12 at 6:00pm, is for the candidates running for 1st Judicial Circuit Judge, Jackson County,
Benjamin W. Reed (D) and Lenoard “Jamie” Snyder (R) .
The forums will run live on October 2 and October 12 and can be watched via a link from the
Carbondale Pubic Library website. Registration for the forums is advised. Go to
https://carbondalepubliclibrary.org/# event page. They can also be watched via the
Carbondale Library’s Youtube page after the scheduled forum dates.
The League of Women Voters encourages all voters to research and learn about their choices
for public office prior to the election. The next general Election is November 3, 2026.
