The Coast Guard Auxiliary has scheduled a Boat America Course at Rend Lake on Saturday, April 22 from 9am – 5pm with a working lunch. This in-depth boating safety course will give you knowledge to enhance our boating experience. Cover boating terns laws, equipment, rules, anchoring, personal watercraft and more. The class will allow you to obtain a boat license or safety certification. In Illinois those born after January 1, 1998 need to have one to operate a boat. In Missouri the sate is January 1, 1984. Materials & coast for a 63 page Boat America text book with study guide is $25.00. This includes the book, Certificate, Wallet Card and examination. A $5.00 fee for each additional person, after a book has been purchased, includes the Certificate, Wallet Card and examination.
