Artspace 304 announces an initiative of the Southern Illinois Mural Project, Welcome,
Carbondale! In collaboration with the City of Carbondale, SIUC, local businesses, and
private donors, the community is investing $40,000 to create three public murals located
on selected buildings throughout Carbondale. Artspace 304 is accepting applications
until April 16, from individual artists and teams of artists who are Illinois residents.
Building owners who have volunteered their walls as canvases for these public murals
will select the artist or team of artists whose vision they feel best fits their building.
Murals will be installed during the summer.
