Artspace 304 announces a second round of the Southern Illinois Mural Project initiative,
Welcome, Carbondale! in 2023. The community is investing up to $30,000 to create
TWO ADDITIONAL public murals in Carbondale through the collaboration with the City
of Carbondale, SIUC, local businesses, and private donors. Artspace 304 is accepting
applications until September 15, from individual artists and teams of artists who are
Illinois residents.
Building owners who have volunteered their walls as canvases for these public murals
will select the artist or team of artists whose vision they feel best fits their building.
Murals will be completed by October 20th. If you have experience with large-scale mural
projects and have a creative vision to share, this is an opportunity for you.
