Art in the Garden: A Unique Art and Music Experience in Southern Illinois

Marion, IL – Marion’s Mandala Gardens, Union Street Arts, Monday Art Social, and Carbondale’s Project Human X are collaborating to bring a one-of-a-kind event to the community. On Saturday, October 7th, from 9am to 7pm, the public is invited to attend “Art in the Garden,” an immersive event celebrating the creative talents of the Southern Illinois region.

Art in the Garden will transform Marion’s Mandala Gardens into a hub of artistic expression, with artists showcasing their work outdoors. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the creative process firsthand, as artists bring their visions to life throughout the day. Local artists’ work will also be available for sale, alongside collectibles and craft tables.

In addition to the art displays, attendees can enjoy delicious fare from a food truck and explore various vending opportunities. The Gazebo will host The Sketchbook Cafe, where visitors can indulge in coffee, pastries, and engage in their own artistic endeavors.

Music will be a central element of the event, with performances throughout the day. Singer-songwriter sets will kick off the day from 9am to 12pm, followed by the mesmerizing rhythms of the Southern Illinois West African Drum Ensemble, SIWADE, from 12pm to 2pm. An open drum circle will follow, welcoming participants to join in with their own instruments. The Law of Love will take the stage from 3pm to 3:30pm, and to close out the evening, attendees will be treated to a special performance from the talented duo of Hope Fiend and Danny Brown.

“Art in the Garden” is a free event, made possible by the collaborative efforts of various community organizations. The event aims to foster a sense of unity and community, showcasing the vibrant artistic talent that Southern Illinois has to offer.

Join us this Saturday for an unforgettable day of art, music, and community. Mandala Gardens is located at 1704 N State St, Marion, IL For more information, please visit our facebook event page https://fb.me/e/30bPPXFb2 or contact Greg Reid at 618- 889-9228
