CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Carbondale Park District and Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks invite the
community to celebrate Halloween with the whole family — including the four-legged members — at
Howl-O-Ween on Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at PetSafe Carbondale Community Dog
Park, 2500 W. Sunset Dr.
This free community event offers an easy way to spend Halloween together: dress up the dog, bring the
family, grab a hot dog, snap a pet portrait and get in on the costume parade.
The Dog Costume Contest and Parade begins at noon sharp, when costumed canines and their owners
can show off their best Halloween looks. Prizes will be awarded to selected contest winners.
Friends of Carbondale Dog Parks will offer $10 pet portraits, dog treats and dog park merchandise for
sale during the event, with proceeds benefiting the organization. Families can stop by for a Halloween
photo with their pup, pick up something for their dog or a fellow dog lover, and support the dog park at the
same time.
And because no dog-themed celebration would be complete without hot dogs, Gordo’s L.A. Style Hot
Dogs will be on site with food available for purchase throughout the event.
Admission to Howl-O-Ween is free. Whether your dog arrives in costume or simply comes along to enjoy
the festivities, families are encouraged to spend the morning at the park, enjoy some food, take photos
and cheer on the dogs in the noon parade.
All dogs must follow PetSafe Carbondale Community Dog Park rules and remain under the control of
their owners.
