Carbondale, IL: Carbondale’s favorite retired architect, Robert Swenson has steered his steamboat into the Confluence wharf. SIU Press has published his book: “From the Center of America: Steamboats and Shipyards Along the Lower Ohio River.” Confluence Books will host a reading and book signing on Sunday, August 23rd at 2 pm. The bookstore is at 705 West Main Street in Carbondale. Parking is available off Forest Avenue. Copies will be available for sale and for signing.
