Southern Illinois Residents Have Until Sept. 6 to Help Shape State Reparations Efforts

More than 2,000 Illinois residents have already participated in a statewide survey conducted by the African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission (ADCRC), helping inform recommendations that could influence future state policies related to housing, economic opportunity, health care, education and community investment.
With the survey remaining open through September 6, the commission is encouraging additional participation to ensure its recommendations reflect the experiences and priorities of communities across Illinois. Public input will play a key role in shaping the commission’s work as it develops recommendations for state leaders.
