The City of Carbondale invites community members of all ages to attend Game Changers: Beyond the Diamond, a family-friendly event celebrating the legacy of Negro Leagues baseball legend John “Buck” O’Neil on Saturday, June 27th from 11:30am to 1:30pm (Doors at 11am) at the Oasis ThrillVille ThrillHouse. Game Changers: Beyond the Diamond will introduce youth and community members to the inspiring story of John “Buck” O’Neil and the legacy of the Negro Leagues through an interactive educational experience with a guided tour of the “Buck: Right on Time” traveling exhibit, a presentation on the Negro Baseball Leagues, and a hands-on art activity. Following the program, attendees will receive a free meal and free game card to continue the fun.
