Super Splash Park Opens May 23 for Its 10th Anniversary Season

CARBONDALE, IL — The Carbondale Park District is excited to announce that the Super
Splash Park will open for the 2026 season at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, kicking off a
milestone summer as the facility celebrates 10 years of fun, family memories, and summer
recreation in Carbondale.
Located at 625 S. Lewis Lane, Super Splash Park has been a favorite summer destination
for families across Southern Illinois since opening in 2016. The 2026 season will feature
returning favorites, aquatic programs, special events, and a brand-new attraction: the Aqua
Climbing Wall.
“This is a really special season for the Super Splash Park,” said Jason Rose, Super Splash
Park General Manager. “We are celebrating 10 years of community support, summer
memories, and families enjoying this facility. The new Aqua Climbing Wall is an exciting
addition, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for opening weekend.”
As part of the opening weekend celebration, guests will have the opportunity to try the new
Aqua Climbing Wall at the Super Splash Park. On Sunday, May 24 from 12:00-5:00 PM
Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center will also be on site with its portable climbing
wall, giving visitors a chance to experience both water-based and land-based climbing
activities with Touch of Nature and Super Splash Park staff and lifeguards present.
The Super Splash Park will be open May 23–25 for opening weekend. The park will then be
closed May 26–29, open again May 30–31, and closed June 1–5 and June 8. Regular
summer hours begin Tuesday, June 9, with the park open Tuesday–Sunday from 12:00–6:00
PM through the summer season.
Daily admission is available at the gate. Children aged 2 and under are free with a parent or
guardian. To celebrate Super Splash Park’s 10th anniversary season, throwback pricing
from 2016 will be offered on Sunday, May 24: Youth $4.00 resident / $5.00 non-resident;
Adult $6.00 resident / $7.50 non-resident; and Senior $5.00 resident / $6.50 non-resident.
Season passes are available for purchase at the Lakeland Center, 925 S. Giant City Road,
during regular business hours. Passes are not sold at Super Splash Park.
Registration is open and ongoing for swimming lessons, aquatic fitness programs, lap
swimming, lazy river walking, and the Cyclones Swim Team. Scholarships are available for
Cyclones swimmers who may not otherwise be able to afford the cost of swim team.
In addition to regular open swim, the Super Splash Park will offer a full summer lineup of
special events, including Preschool Playdays, age-based evening swims, Dive-In Movies,
and Dog Day.
