As data centers rapidly expand across Illinois, organizers are working to ensure communities statewide have access to clear, plain-language information about how these developments may affect local water supplies, energy demand and utility costs, and environmental health.
“Communities are unique from one another and deserve transparent information about how big data center infrastructure in their area can impact their natural resources and daily lives,” said event organizers. “This gathering gives residents a chance to learn, ask questions, talk to each other, and eventually help shape how their communities and our state respond to these fast-moving developments.”
This interactive event is free and open to the public.
The program agenda includes:
• A brief overview of the data center landscape in Illinois, including the latest developments and news.
• Insights into potential impacts on water, energy, and the environment; and
• Small-group discussions where attendees can share concerns, ask questions, and explore possible solutions
