Carbondale, IL – The Food Works Winter Farmers Market, (formally the Carbondale Community
Farmers Market) is excited to announce its winter season opening and new hours on Saturday,
December 6th, 2025! The indoor market will be open every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. December 6, 2025 – March 29, 2025 at Carbondale Community High School Cafeteria,
located at 1301 E Walnut St. Carbondale, IL 62901.
The market will offer a wide variety of items, all grown, baked, or made by local producers,
including sustainably grown vegetables, grass-fed meats and dairy products, fresh baked
goods, jams, jellies, local honey, hot sauces, canned goods, soaps, body products, and holiday
decorations. Come Shop The Best of Southern Illinois!
In addition to live music, the Food Works Winter Farmers Market will host special events such
as the 2026 Seed Swap, Plant Giveaway, and visits from Y’all Rock.
The Kids Club Program offers free children’s activities each Saturday; including 2-bite
challenges and exploring topics like recycling, growing food, and composting. Children will
receive their own Kids Club market tote bag to decorate, participate in hands-on crafts like seed
bombs and bird feeders, as well as shop with “Market Kids Bucks”.
SNAP customers can benefit from the Link Match double coupon program, allowing them to use
their LINK card to purchase eligible foods, with up to $25 in matching funds for fresh fruits and
vegetables, making winter produce more affordable for families.
The Food Works Winter Farmers Market is a program of Food Works, a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization dedicated to creating a sustainable food economy in Southern Illinois.
