WDBX is unique
in that it may be the only radio station in the nation that operates its own
Thriftstore.
The WDBX Community Thriftstore accepts donations of clothes, household goods, furniture, electronics, books, and more and the items are resold.
Once in a while a listener will even donate a large item like a car!
If a family suffers a calamity such as fire or other loss, the Thriftstore will provide needed items free of charge.
Proceeds from the Thriftstore directly benefit the radio station.
The Thriftstore awards an annual $500 scholarship to a deserving Carbondale High School graduate.
